Lee, it will double its size in about two months... it should eat about 8 crix a day then go up from there. My sav today just ate 18 crix and hes only 12 inches long. ;D ;D

cool thanks for the input i am stopping by the petstore after work to get some crx i was just going to get 12 and throw some calcium on them and throw them in the tank but now u say start with 8 i will thanks zach.


cuda i will get him checked for worms to make sure yes he is a little on the thin side so i will take him to the vet to have him checked out. thanks cuda

LEE, I hate you!!!!! You didn't tell me he was selling on of his monitors!!!!! I would've bought it off him!!!! I'm assuming you got it from the same guy? > > :-\ :-\ If it's from him, then he is a nice looking guy, but yeah, he is on the thin side. I'd go superworms instead of crix. They have more nutrition to them. I'd also get him a pinky mouse too, added fat!!! Crix, unless they are gut loaded, are just a shell and nothing else. 8)I would deffinately go with a varied diet for the little guy.. a new born pinkie mouse and like evil said some super worms also the crix, try putting a flat lid with some canned cat food on it and see if it will try that, but deffinately use some vitamin calcium powder on the prey items.. Its still cute as ever...

thanks cuda and evil no i did not get this guy from ricky i got him from superpets lol but i can get u one if u want one i believe the guy gives me his discount and they are 24 dollars cheaper than payin the 30 dollars for it . lol i could probably get another one from ricky though as well he will probbly get rid of it for something like 15-20 bucks let me know evil i will get him or her for u and bring it to work lol

Welcome to the Savh Family. I have two and there growing like weeds. I have to agree with the others he is looking thin all around ecspecially in the tail but, Don't get discouraged these guys are vivacious eaters and I m sure he'll put the weight on. Take a stool sample with you to the vet this will aid in the worm check. As for feeding I feed mine. Crickets(calcium coated), Super Worms, Wax Worms, Earth Worms, Meal worms, hard boiled Eggs, Wet Dog Food(sparingly due to its high fat content), and pinkie mice. I give crickets every day and a pinkie every other day since it takes there body a lot longer to digest. I disagree with Evil(doesn't happen often) on the crickets thing..I like crickets because your Savh will get some good exercise chasing them around the cage. If you want to gut load them just buy gutload for crickets at your Local pet Shop. ;D ;D Good Luck

The reason I don't like crix is basicly because of my Tokay. I use to feed him Crix all the time when I first got her. It didn't help one bit for her to put on any weight. Plus when she Poo'd, it was just crix shells, nothing more. Nothing there that appeared that she was actually digesting anything. Once I switched to Superworms and a Pinky mouse/rat once a week, her poo looked like Poo should look. I give her a couple crix every now and then, for that fact.....excercise. I just feel that Crix pretty much have no nutritional value unless gut loade. Anyways, that's my two cents worth on crix, I'll drop it now.

:-\Yeah well i think crix are ok but there are certain lizards that can digest them better than others and i also think its best to give as wide a diet as possible, superworms and wax worms and also pinkie mice are great for lizards that can take them down...
