the temperment on my sav is pretty tame only nips if i grab him by the tail it doesn't like that but i have to hold on to something when he is going nuts in my hands trying to get down. he is taming down now i can hold him without him trying to get away from me now i can actually let my hand free and he will just sit there assuming it is a he don't know yet.

If my Tokay can eat Pinky Rats, I'm sure you Tegu will eat at least pinky mice!!!!! The only way to know it to stick one in there and see what he does. That's how I found what my tokay will eat!!

;D Lee I would never reccomend holdoing by the tail no matter how squirmh he is..And if you feed him a pinkie he doesn't need a dozen crix's on top of that..Savh's are gultonis reptiles there like gold fish the'll just keep eating and eating ..you don't want to over feed because Savh's have a tendency to get fat..fast and a fat Savh is an unhealthy savh..It will cause many health problems and shorten your savhs life considerably.. :-[ Good luck

ohh and I saw someone ask about temperment on Savh's its great..although some savhs need more work then other but with the proper handling and patience most calm down nicely..They have a tendency to be more fiesty when there small then adult size ;D ;D

ohh and I would switch beddings if you feed in the cage for less chance of ingestion... I personnally think that Newspaper is the best bedding for these guys..or repti carpet if you want a more natural look..have two to three hides and a couple of leafy silf plants so they can hide..Occasionally mine decide they want to burrow and they go under the paper wich is cool ..and get a big water bowl you would be suprised ho much they like to soak..hell mine sleeps in the water bowl its pretty funny..lol
