i went to a exotic pet shop today and saw some baby black and white tegu's for 35 bucks so i was just wonderin if any of ya had one or know's any care sheets about them.?
b&w babies are a bit NIPPY. With some holding they will calm down but when you go to pick it up it will huff really loud, which is a warning cause after that they will bite . If its a Columbian B&W then its gonna be even more nippy. THe way to tell the difference is the Columbian has a lot more tan on them and the Argentine(sp?) Black and white has 2 lateral stripes running down their back that are white. They eat crickets as babies and fuzzy mice when fulll grown. You can vary the diet but whatever you do DONT FEED CATFOOD. There is way to much fat and to many vitamins in cat food for tegus to digest. Hope this helps some.
