8) Ok your Horn frogs should be kept the same way as your Pixie frogs, lightly moist peatmoss mix / spagnum bedding for burrowing with a water dish for soaking.. As i do not recomend that they be kept on gravel at all.. This is another type of frog that likes to stay hidden till prey comes along and then wham it pounces on the prey..Mine is a male so he calls every night for a girl, poor guy.. :-[ Males of this species are alot smaller than the females..There are several diffrent types being commonly sold on the market today..I have what they call the Bells horn frog- Ceratophrys Ornata which seems to have the prettiest colors to them mine being red, yellow, green and black with a tiny amount of white.. Mine eats small feeder mice, earth worms, crickets and once in awhile moths from outside. These frogs are very easy to care for but remember they can and will bite! There mouth has a row on top and bottom thats like a razor blade for teeth.. There are several names for horn frogs, Bells horn frog, chaco horn frog which is just a color variation, suriname horn frog which most are wild caught and only eat other frogs, fantasy horn frog which is the same as a green or albino horn frog and is the same as a pacman frog and several that have been cross bred, i have had many of the diffrent horn frogs and find them easy to care for and very amusing at times.. Here are a few links to see some diffrent horn frogs.
and then this site is very cool to hang out at for us frog lovers..
