Hey all,

I know, why a toad.. Just a little guy that walked over to my door so I picked him up shots some pics and let him go by my pond...

So frog/toad experts.. Exactly what kind of toad is this?

8)Hey Steve excellent shots, thats a nice American toad, the fowlers has three warts per black spots on its back and the American usualy has only one wart per black spots on the back.. Still nice toad ya got there.. Some of the Americans can get pretty big.. what was the size on that one??

Hey Cuda,

That one was only about the size of a golf ball, maybe a little smaller.. They get to about the size of a baseball around here, unlke the green frogs down at the pond, they get the size of a football.. I need to catch one and shoot a pic..

Here is a pic of the back.. See I do remember to shoot every angle.. Just no belly shots..LOL

Thanks Lee...LOL.. Well the second toad never should have stopped by.. He met my dog who eats everything.... Good thing there are 100's of these buggers around here..

8) American toads are a redish color with brownish to blackish markings and the Fowlers toad is a grayish to brown with black markings on it.. Ive seen some american toads get pretty big steve and then theres a few fowlers that can reach huge sizes to, most all about 5 to 6 inches max... Theres been a lack of toads around here this yr, dont know if its just a bad yr or what.. Im gona have andrea go out and get me few from out at the swamp and turn them loose around here...
