Well, I know they're all over the place, but I've always liked the Domestic Short Hairs, particularly the orange or white ones. But, my favorite cat breeds would have to be Russian Blues (for their colors), Siamese, and Manxes.

Red, are Russian Blues typically shy? I love their coloration, but, a friend of mine has a Russian Blue male that is painfully shy. His girlfriend has been coming over for a year now, and the cat is just now starting to come out of hiding when she's around. When any other company's around, the owner literally has to drag the cat out from under the bed.

No.. Mine was completely forward with evey body...
That cat was probley hit by sombody it didn't know... So now it is scared of people it does not know...
That is how cats are... If they have been abused they go one of two ways most of the time... ether they lov' everybody that is not abbusing them or they are scared of all who come around...

Thats not neccasarilly true in all cases. Some cats just take time to warm up to people or only care for immediate family members. I have a Orange Tabby who doesn't care for anyone but, me and my Wife. When friends come over he hides . Although, he does start to come out after a couple of visits. I do agree partly the cat could have been abused in some way so it is afraid of people. I think part of the reason mine isn't as social is because he was a stray..he was a little wild child when I found him on the golf course ..he was no bigger then a sprite can..hissen and a clawing at everything. Some cats prefer to be left alone and not bothered with. Thats the great thing about cats they all have there own uniqe personallitys.

Sounds like that cat was abandoned... That is a form of abuse... You know... probley took out some where with its owner and then just left... I agree That cats have there own habbits...
And any way I was talking about cats that get abused usly go one of two ways not all cats... Just to clear things up..

;D I understood what you said and I agree Red. I hope you didn't think I was disagreeing. Actually my Orange Tabby Simon was part of a litter of baby's we found. I think soomeone found out mom was prego and didn't want to deal with it so they dumped her off. > People are so mean!! So you Have Cats Red??

Well the cat does not get to a huge size... so it is been fed quit well...
She is a good cat keeper.. since you don't really have to keep them...
